St Ernan’s by the Loch begins a new chapter
St Ernan’s by the Loch has officially come into community ownership, marking a major milestone in the project to protect the historic building and secure its future.
Built in 1899, St Ernan’s has been part of life on the Ross of Mull for more than 125 years. Bringing the building into community ownership gives us the opportunity to preserve its heritage while developing a sustainable and welcoming space for future generations.
The acquisition follows several years of work, including community consultation, feasibility work and support from the Scottish Land Fund.
There is plenty still to do, but community ownership means an exciting new chapter for St Ernan’s can now begin.
