Work continues behind the scenes at St Ernan’s by the Loch as we seek funding for the next phase of our restoration project.

We have recently submitted further grant applications to Argyll and Bute Council’s Local Area Committee and the CalMac Community Foundation, alongside an Expression of Interest for Crown Estate grant funding.

These applications follow the welcome news that the Hugh Fraser Foundation has pledged £10,000 towards the refurbishment project, subject to the remaining funding being secured and the work proceeding as planned. An application has also been submitted to Historic Environment Scotland.

Our immediate priority remains making St Ernan’s wind and watertight, protecting the historic building and providing a foundation for its future as a welcoming community space.

Alongside our fundraising efforts, we are continuing to work with an architect to develop plans for the next phase of improvements.

Securing the funding required is an important part of the journey, and we are grateful to everyone who continues to support the project.
