What could the future hold for St Ernan’s by the Loch?
Since beginning the journey towards community ownership, we’ve been listening to local people about how they would like to see this historic building used in the years ahead.
Our community survey revealed overwhelming support for St Ernan’s to continue providing a venue for weddings and funerals, reflecting its longstanding importance in the lives of local families.
Other popular suggestions included community support groups, meeting space and Gaelic language classes.
We’ve also welcomed further ideas and conversations during our summer Open Afternoons, with visitors sharing their thoughts about the opportunities a restored St Ernan’s could offer.
These contributions are helping shape our vision for a flexible, welcoming building that respects its history and peaceful setting while meeting the changing needs of the community.
Although our immediate priority is making St Ernan’s wind and watertight, we’re continuing to think about how the building can be used sustainably in the longer term.
